Heatwave 25th June 2026

IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING EARLY COLLECTION DUE TO THE HEATWAVE

(Apologies, our email comms in school have currently failed and we were unable to get this message out yesterday afternoon as planned.)

Dear Parents and Carers,

Over the course of the week, the temperatures inside the school have been increasing to the point where, across the afternoon it is becoming harder to mitigate the potential negative impact on pupils' health, wellbeing and their ability to learn effectively, despite the measures that we have introduced.

Consequently, after following the LA's advice and consulting with the SLT and Governors, I am writing to inform you that should you wish to collect your child from school at the start of the afternoon for the rest of this week, then you are able to do so.

Please note the following points:

  • All children, regardless of their Year Group, will need to be collected by a close family member, who is known to the school. Please complete this form https://forms.office.com/e/LZ8FyJ5mkW if you are intending to collect your child from school today and/or Friday (the form will close at 11:30am on both Thursday and Friday).
  • Children will only be released to non-family members if we have received written permission for this in advance. Due to limited capacity, staff will not be able to call parents to confirm permission.
  • Children can only be collected between 13:15 and 13:30, as I am afraid we do not have the capacity for members of the Office Team to be looking for children who are to be collected throughout the afternoon.
  • Any child who has been collected is then the responsibility of their parents and carers.

Suffice to say, all staff will be remaining on site as normal, and will ensure that any children on site are supervised and supported.

With regards,

James Kilsby
