E-Safety

The E-Safety Curriculum

Following the introduction of the Computing curriculum in September 2014 it is the responsibility of all schools to teach e-safety. This will be through specific lessons and continuous provision, advice and support.

At Key Stage 1

Children will be taught to use technology safely and respectfully, keeping personal information private; identify where to go for help and support when they have concerns about content or contact on the internet or other online technologies.

At Key Stage 2

Children will be taught to use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly; recognise acceptable/unacceptable behaviour; identify a range of ways to report concerns about content and contact.

Introduction for Parents

We believe that what you need to do is to help minimise the risks and dangers.

Keeping your child safe is a daily,sub-conscious activity. Whether you are a digital native or digitally naive the good news is that you have all skills you need to help keep your children safe on the internet – you may just not have the knowledge or experience.......yet. It's not possible for children to have a risk-free life. Nor will it help to ban the access and use of the internet.

Do you allow your child to use the internet?
Do you understand Social Networking?
Do you know what a blog is?..or Wiki.....?

Do you know what your child is doing online RIGHT NOW ?
