Year 4 5 6 Classes

Welcome to the 456 Off – Site Learning Page

The staff in Y456 have created a programme of work to support your child with learning at home.

Your child has been provided with an exercise book and pencil which they can use to complete the work available on the School Website.

On the 456 'Off-site Learning' section there are activities relating to three focus areas:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Other subjects

The focus of this learning is to optimise key aspects of the English and Maths curriculum and take the opportunity to consolidate and over learn key knowledge.

We realise that everyone's family circumstances will be different and we have tried to be mindful of what parents can achieve at home.  The activities provided are not a compulsory list, but more an indication of what we would like your children to complete in order to ensure that your child is maintaining the learning that they have done in school.

You may like to structure the day with a timetable.

We recommend spending time doing Maths and English work every day. You then may like to choose one other curriculum area each day to work on, answering the retrieval questions (or some of the retrieval questions) and completing one of the tasks.  The retrieval questions can be used multiple times.

In addition to this we encourage at least 60 minutes of physical activity (please see the stay active link for ideas) and 30 minutes reading and use the TTRS website.

Over the course of the next few days, we will be uploading English and Maths activities for the children to complete. The aim is that these are activities to be completed over the next two weeks and will be supported by worked examples.  There will also be some additional arithmetic tasks and website links that the children can access.

In addition, there will be tasks to retrieve key knowledge taught and projects to do for the other subjects. We have also put some ‘CPS Boredom Busters’ and some active ideas on the website.

Should you have any queries do not hesitate to get in touch. We request that all emails go through me (Miss Howden) and should be email to  Please do not contact the other teachers in the team.  At this stage we will not be able to receive work and mark it- but will welcome seeing the book with work in, when the pupils return to school.

Please bear with us while we get to grips with 'Off-site Learning'. It will be useful for you to check on the page every day to see which new resources have been uploaded.
