Part-time/Full-time Teaching Assistants

Teaching Assistant Levels 2 & 3

In order to meet the school’s current requirements we are looking to recruit into a variety of L2 and L3 positions. These hours are available immediately and would be temporary until August 2020, although there may be potential for some hours to become permanent from September. Part-time hours can be accommodated.

The positions would cover a variety of tasks including working in 1:1 supporting roles with pupils who have different levels of need (as detailed in their Education Health and Care Plans). There is scope to support small groups of children, providing them with opportunities for pre-learning and over-learning of key vocabulary and concepts. You would also be given the opportunity to adopt a range of strategies to establish a purposeful learning environment, promote good behaviour, and provide targeted support to enhance learning and improve attainment.

You will need to share our commitment to support the school’s most vulnerable pupils. In return, you will be offered opportunities for shadowing existing staff and developing your own skills in this area.

These are exciting roles for individuals who relish the challenge of supporting all children to achieve.

  • Do you have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate well to people on all levels, to resolve conflicts in a sensitive manner, to encourage and motivate?
  • Do you have the ability work as a member of a team, to show initiative and imagination and to understand roles and responsibilities?

If so, then please complete an application for a Teaching Assistant role here at Cottenham Primary School, indicating how many hours you would like to be considered for.  Visits to our school are encouraged and welcomed. Please telephone or email the Office to book a visit.  Application forms can be downloaded by clicking the link on the Vacancies page of the school website.

Closing date for applications will be midday, Wednesday 5th February 2020.

Interviews will take place w/c Monday 10th February 2020.
