In conjunction with our Shackleton House Day, Cottenham Primary School were excited to feature in a "tweet" from the Government of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands when the school logo was placed (temporarily) on the actual grave of Sir Ernest Shackleton in South Georgia. The Government SGSSI tweeted: " Well done Cottenham primary school on your #Shackelton project...the next generation of explorers!"
The whole school was privileged to view this image as part of our Shackleton House Day and we also went "live" to South Georgia via webcam to view the site of Shackleton's grave.
We are fortunate that the uncle of one of our Year 6 pupils is one of the Government Officers for the Government of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands and helped to facilitate the exciting image we can share.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
